While America celebrates the dawn of a new era, India is trying to recover from a a fire outbreak at the Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune.
The building which houses the world’s biggest Covid-19 vaccine production in western India was gutted by fire from an unknown source earlier today. On a good note, production of the vaccine is not affected by the incident. But on a really sad note, five lives were lost.
India is all out to deal with this Covid-19 pandemic o. The country had approved two vaccines earlier this month to battle the disease; Covishield, produced by the SII and Covaxin, produced by Bharat Biotech, a local firm.
Even as I write this, the first batch of the vaccine has already been sent out to Bhutan and Maldives, another 2 million to Bangladesh followed by yet another million to the Nepal.
This is just a little fraction compared to the 300 million people the company hopes to vaccinate before July. You see this Covid-19 ehn, e go see shege this year! ?
