A group of 31 northern lawyers has come together to provide free legal services to the suspended super cop, Abba Kyari as he faces multiple charges of fraud against the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In an investigation carried out by the FBI, suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari was indicated in a fraud case against popular Nigerian socialist, Hushpuppi.
The findings of the FBI investigation suggest that Abba Kyari helped imprison Hushpuppi’s accomplice after a fraud deal went bad. And was paid up to N8 million.
The spokesperson of the group of lawyers, Sunusi Bappah Salisu, insisted that the lawyers are from all 19 states and religions.
He further stated that the free legal service was to review the process and procedures used by the FBI to charge Abba Kyari to a court in the United States, in the case against Abbas Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi. Their aim, he said, was to preserve the fundamental human rights of the suspended police officer, Abba Kyari.
