Faleye Olalekan has come out to allege that he was a victim of the Lekki tollgate incident on October 20, 2020.
He alleges he was among other demonstrators at the tollgate when the lights were turned off and uniformed soldiers opened fire, hitting him.
He claimed that after he was shot, fellow End SARS demonstrators assisted him in getting to the hospital. Later, he was transported to a different hospital.
He said he was told at the second hospital that his leg would have to be amputated.
He claims that he has been pleading with the government to intervene since his leg was amputated, but that nothing has been done for him.
He claims that he has gone to court in pursuit of justice, but that they are not “judging anything." He claims that the panel set up to investigate police violence keeps promising to get back to them, but that nothing has been done since the panel was established.
“But they said they didn't shoot on that day," the interviewer says to the supposed victim.
The accused victim's response is as follows: “They fired oh. They can't say they didn't shoot because they didn't. They are aware of the truth, yet they are unable to touch it."
This comes after Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, stated on October 20, 2020, that no one was slain at the Lekki tollgate.
In a statement made on the one-year anniversary of the Lekki tollgate shooting, he labeled it a “phantom massacre."
