Kenyan police have launched a manhunt for Patrick Mumo Ngenge, a suspect who raped his 90-year-old mother in Mbooni-Makueni county on October 20, 2021, before fleeing.
Her eldest son discovered the octogenarian in her bedroom, screaming in pain and complaining of waist pains.
The 45-year-old suspect broke into his mother’s residence about 8:00 p.m., according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
In a statement, the DCI said: “She tearfully narrated her harrowing ordeal in the hands of her younger son Patrick Mumo, 45, who forced his way into her bedroom at around 8:00 pm as she slept and subjected her to the beastly act."
The woman was brought to Kisau Sub-county Hospital in critical condition, where she is now being treated. Doctors at the hospital have since determined that she had really been raped.
The law will eventually catch up with Patrick Mumo Ngenge, so he has been requested to give himself in.
