Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s spokesman, Paul Ibe, and former spokesman for Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Team, Nana Kazaure, have condemned Felix Morka‘s threat to Peter Obi’s life.
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Felix Morka, on Saturday, in an interview accused the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Obi, of inciting the citizens against the current government through misinformation.
In their separate statements on their social media handles on Monday, Ibe and Mrs. Kazaure decried that Nigeria may slide into dictatorship under the APC government.
Ibe said the threat against Obi was unacceptable. He noted that freedom of speech and viable opposition remain the cornerstone of democracy. He called on Nigerians to keep awake against and defend the country’s freedom of speech.
“Threats against Peter Obi, or indeed any other opposition leader, is not acceptable and stands condemned. We have watched with great concern the slide of our dear country to a dictatorship, such as was never experienced even during the military era. The cornerstones of democracy are the freedoms of association and expression. Any attempt to corral Nigerians into a one-party dictatorship is dangerous and needs to be resisted by all men and women who truly love this country,” he said.
On her part, Mrs. Kazaure alerted Nigerians to hold the APC’s spokesman, Morka, accountable for the former governor of Anambra State’s life.
“Mr. Felix Morka, we heard your threat to Peter Obi loud and clear on an international News platform.
“Please note that, should anything happen to him, Mr. Felix Morca will be held responsible,” she stated.
