Ghana’s Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has affirmed his team’s preparedness as they gear up for the highly anticipated 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against their long-standing rivals, Nigeria.

Note that Nigeria must record an aggregate win against Ghana in a two-legged affair to secure a spot in the 2024 CHAN which will take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from 1 to 28 February 2025.

The first leg of this matchup is scheduled to take place at the iconic Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22. A week later, the teams will reconvene for the reverse fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where they will strive for dominance on Nigerian soil.

Coach Dramani expressed his thoughts ahead of the game, emphasizing the importance of facing formidable opponents in the pursuit of success.

In football, when you want to reach the pinnacle of the sport, you must be prepared to face top-tier teams. It’s not surprising that we are up against Nigeria,” he remarked.

Note that Ghana previously thwarted Nigeria’s attempt to qualify for the last edition of the championship, an outcome that has added extra motivation for both teams.

Meanwhile, optimism is running high within the Ghanaian camp, particularly from Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare.

He voiced his confidence in the squad’s chances ahead of the upcoming qualifier in an interview with Kickgh, saying: “The preparation has been excellent. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to represent the Black Galaxies, and I urge all Ghanaians to rally behind us in large numbers. We assure our fans that we will give our all to secure a victory.”
