Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan and former United States Vice President, Albert Gore have mourned the death of late President Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the US, died on Sunday at the age of 100 years.

In their separate condolence messages on Monday, Jonathan and Gore described Carter as a champion of human rights and justice across the world.

According to Jonathan, the late Nobel Peace Prize winner would be remembered for his service to humanity.

“I Offer my condolences to the United States Government and the Carter family on the passing of President Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States.

“President Carter was a long-standing global statesman who distinguished himself in public service and acts of charity.

As a global peace icon, he devoted his life promoting peace, democracy, human rights and eradication of diseases like Guinea worm through the Carter Center.

“He will be rememberd for his impactful life of service to humanity defined by selflessness and commitment to values of love, peace and justice,” he said.

For Vice President Albert Arnold Gore, Carter led Americal with heart, faith in God and courage.

Jimmy Carter lived a life full of purpose, humility, and kindness. He had an unyielding commitment to building a more peaceful, safer, and more just world and a cleaner environment.

“He is also remembered around the world for the work he did over the 42 years after he left office. In everything he did, he led with heart, faith in God, and courage.

“I am grateful for the many years of his leadership and friendship. I extend my thoughts and prayers to his children, grandchildren, and all of the people whose lives he touched around the world who are grieving his loss. May he be at peace with his beloved Rosalynn,” Gore stated.
