Mauricio Pochettino wins his first trophy at PSG in less than 2 weeks. Goals from Icardi and Neymar placed them ahead of Marseille, giving PSG the Super Cup title.
Pochettino was fired from his Managerial position at Tottenham in 2019 for failing to win any significant trophy. The decision to sack him came after 6 years of investing his time, effort, and passion into managing Tottenham.
He, however, managed to take Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019 against Liverpool but lost by 2 goals.
His failure to win trophies was considered unacceptable for a top 6 club, hence the sack letter on his table on the 19th of November, 2019.
However, after 1 year without a job, PSG gave the Argentine coach another opportunity to prove his worth, and like a hungry lion, he has begun devouring trophies.
However, the Argentine still has a great task ahead. It is believed that former PSG coach, Tuchel, was fired because he failed to win a Champions League title. Pochettino will have to dig deep into his tactical diary if he doesn’t want to lose this job too.
Pochettino has however won his first trophy at PSG without yet signing players of his choice.
The Argentine has been rumored to have his eyes on Aguero, Messi, and Paul Pogba. And it seems he doesn’t plan on using the turbo-sprinter, Mbappe.
Mbappe will be sold if PSG is serious about Messi.
However, the youngster might decide to stay just to enjoy football with one of the world’s greatest footballers. Also, a Messi transfer to PSG means he’ll be reuniting with an old friend, Neymar.
