Pastor Idowu was detained for his alleged involvement in real estate fraud and money laundering.
“Pastor Bolaji Idowu, known for his Next Level Prayer Conference, has been taken into custody and is undergoing interrogation in Abuja regarding allegations of real estate fraud and money laundering,” one police insider revealed.
Addressing the claims during his “Next Level Prayers” session on Wednesday, Pastor Bolaji debunked the allegations linking him to fraudulent real estate dealings, asserting that he has no business interests in property transactions.
The clergy also dismissed claims of owning a property in Nigeria or receiving large financial deposits, particularly billions of naira, into his accounts, adding that his account is public and people can verify.
He said, “Over the last 24 hours, there’s been a lot of news about me on social media, I just want to state some facts clearly.
“I do not have any property in Nigeria apart from the one bequeathed to me by my late parents.
“I am not in the business of buying or selling properties.
“Someone said I received billions into my account. My account is public; anyone can check if I have ever received such amounts. I did not.”
Pastor Bolaji also expressed gratitude to his supporters and everyone who had reached out with messages of encouragement, adding that he remained undeterred by the controversy.
He said, “I want to thank all of you that showed a lot of love. We are victorious, as you are reading it, I’m also reading it, like wow.”
