Corps members across the country can look forward to receiving a minimum wage of ₦77,000, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced.

Ahmed made this assurance in Abuja on Tuesday while commissioning a staff bus donated by a company.

He stated that arrangements for the increased allowance had been finalized, emphasizing that corps members’ welfare and security remain his top priorities.

By 2025, corps members will receive all the benefits they deserve. Their security and welfare are my primary focus,” Ahmed said.

The NYSC DG highlighted the importance of the newly donated bus, explaining that it was intended to address transportation challenges faced by staff and corps members.

Staff of the scheme and corps members have always complained about difficulties in commuting to and from the office. This donation will significantly ease these challenges,” he added.

In other news, the Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, has warned corps members against travelling at night and boarding vehicles by roadsides.

General Ahmed advised corps members to serve as positive agents of development that would give succour to their host communities.

The DG, Ahmed stated this in his address to Corps Members at Anambra State Orientation Camp, Mbaukwu and Ebonyi State Orientation Camp in Afikpo.

He urged them to study the needs of their host communities, seek for support from the residents and initiate laudable projects that would improve the standards of living of their hosts.

The Director General also warned them against embarking on unauthorized and night journeys but added that they should obtain permission from the NYSC and their employers if it becomes mandatory for them to travel.
