Uganda’s Joshua Baraka Takes ‘Growing Pains’ Global With Live EP Release

Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka is taking his talents worldwide with the release of his new Live EP, “Growing Pains.” Recorded live at the New Originals store in Amsterdam and the BBE Store in London, this special project showcases Baraka’s undeniable stage presence and musical versatility.

The EP captures Baraka at his peak, effortlessly switching between keys and guitar while captivating the audience with call-and-response segments. Fans can expect vibrant acoustic renditions of his viral hits like “Nana” and “Dalilah,” along with a captivating twist: a previously unheard collaboration with UK rapper LeoStayTrill (fresh off his TikTok Song of the Summer win). Their unique take on “Falling in Love” reimagines Leo’s “Dalilah & Tewekweka” with a fresh perspective.

“This is more than just music; it’s a culmination of my journey,” says Baraka, reflecting on the project. “‘Growing Pains’ reflects the title perfectly. It’s a deep dive into the struggles I’ve faced throughout my career, from the very beginning to where I stand today. Sometimes it feels surreal to have come this far. I wanted to share the sacrifices, the growth, and the experiences that led me here.”

Moreso, the “Growing Pains” EP isn’t just a live performance; it’s a testament to Baraka’s artistic evolution. This collection seamlessly blends his love for dancehall, R&B, and production mastery, tackling themes of family, love (both lost and found), and personal growth – all delivered with a lyrical maturity that solidifies his status as a songwriting force.

In addition, Baraka’s talent has garnered him well-deserved recognition. He was recently named one of Spotify’s RADAR artists to watch, joining the ranks of rising star Shallipopi. With the release of “Growing Pains Live,” Joshua Baraka proves he’s not just an artist on the rise – he’s a global force to be reckoned with.
