Nigerian Goal Poacher, Victor Osimhen has failed to find the back of the net since returning from Covid-19 injury. The number 9 man for Gattuso’s Napoli ran riot during the preseason but has only managed 2 goals in the Serie A this season.
Osimhen tested positive to Covid-19 in January while recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered on international duty for Nigeria in December 2020.
The 22-year-old recovered from his shoulder injury on January 15th and tested Negative to Covid-19 on January 22.
However, Osimhen doesn’t look 100% fit. Head coach of Napoli, Gattuso told the press that while Osimhen has fully recovered, the No. 9 isn’t fit yet.
Osimhen came in as a substitute for Napoli against Geneo in the 54th minute but failed to add value as they lost the match. He also played for 9 minutes against Atalanta.
Osimhen has proved himself to be one of the most prolific goal scorers in the world. We hope that with time, he shows the world again why Napoli bought him.
